The Mantle Rests Heavily
The King of Wands represents one who has mastered the fiery energy of passion and spirit, and is able to focus it toward meaningful goals.
There is something playful and feisty about this King. In Rachel Pollack’s book for the Crystal Skull deck, she describes him as one who might rather be off on an adventure than lounging on his throne, as if the mantle of leadership rests a little too heavily on his shoulders.
May we each master ourselves well enough to fulfill our responsibilities (and may we still make time for play).
