The Prince of Disks represents “air of earth.” This strikes me as the sort of energy we would see in the composting process, or that of tilling a field or garden. Steady work creates a productive environment for new life and growth.
Indeed, Lady Harris’ depiction includes a cart filled with produce. The Prince himself is one of the darkest and richest toned characters of all the Court Cards, almost matching the color of the ox that pulls his chariot. They are the colors of the beautiful, funky, fertile earth.
Coming after yesterday’s Queen of the same suit, this card is an encouragement to focus on immediate physical needs and comforts for ourselves and those around us.
“Dig in” and keep a steady hand at the plough.
