I’ve written pretty extensively about this card, The Pope, The High Priest, The Hierophant. Essentially it is the card of formal socialization. It represents things like education, religious indoctrination, initiation, mentorship, and all of the other more formal and traditional ways that our lives are shaped.
This morning, it turns up following yesterday’s Four of Coins, also a card about how stability manifests in the material realm.
And, of course, this is all in the context of a period of great unrest in the United States after police murdered George Floyd.
My intuition tells me that these cards are urging me, personally, to lean on time-tested traditions and institutions for answers. This is something of a departure, as my temperament is more inclined toward tumult and revolution.
I’ll ask again the question that I asked yesterday. Can we find a way for all of us in our society to be healthy, happy, safe and free?
Here are my earlier posts about this card.
