We draw four cards to represent the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of life.
Physical/Financial
Two of Cups – Venus is in Cancer. Cups are the suit of the heart, and twos are the cards of decisions, partnerships, couples, and balance. In decisions related to health, finances, or anything else in the material and physical dimension of our lives this week, we should follow our hearts’ urging. Rely on the advice and comfort of a close friend, trusted counselor, lover or partner. Look for a balanced, harmonious approach. Enjoy the company of someone close to you, in face-to-face, physical proximity.
Social/Emotional
Four of Cups – The Moon is in Cancer. Fours are the cards of stability and security, so this card suggests a soft, lush, comfortable emotional landscape, or as Crowley styles it, a sense of “luxury.” Enjoy this state while it lasts, and be appreciative and grateful for the gift.
Mental
The Moon – This is the Astrological Trump of Pisces. There is the nagging, eerie sense that something is about to emerge. We know not what.
Spiritual
Five of Wands – Saturn is in Leo. Wands are the suit of fire, and passion. Fives represent change, a dissolution from the solid, balanced energy of the fours. There is a sense here of pent up energy about to blow, or spiritual urges being stifled or frustrated. Hence, Crowley’s keyword for the card, “strife.”
As unsettling as the energy patterns in the higher aspects of our lives may seem, there’s not much we can do to force the issues which are developing there, or to get a lot of clarity as to their specific nature. We really just need to remain calm and centered as best we can, and focus on the soft, warm, comforts present in the physical and emotional/social realms. Enjoy the blessings of close relationships, follow the urgings of the heart, and be thankful for the gifts of life and love this week.
