The Star is the card of inspiration and creativity.
Tolstoy said that words are how we convey thoughts, but art is how we convey emotions. Apart from any value concerning the subject, it is the individuality, clarity and sincerity of the piece that determine the greatness of a work of art. The measure of greatness is the extent to which a work of art conveys the feeling of the artist, and joins others together in its singular experience.
The Star, for me, represents openness which allows us to connect with our own deepest self, and willingness to be vulnerable which allows us to express it fully to others. The character is naked, and pouring out everything she has. There is a sense that she is replenishing or nourishing the waters upon which she kneels.
When we open ourselves to the most profound stirrings of our hearts, and we offer the totality of ourselves to the world – that is when we are most present, aligned and alive.
