Keep the faith. We’re almost home.
The Nine of Wands represents perseverance in adversity, and perhaps a momentary respite as we near the end of a taxing project, struggle or process of some sort.
On Pixie’s version of this card for the Waite deck, she depicts a figure with a bandaged head, leaning on a staff for strength, with eight other wands standing in the ground behind him. The picket of wands looks like a fortification to protect his flank. He appears to be weary, and on the lookout for the next onslaught.
The message of this card, for me, is to keep the faith. Though beleaguered and wounded, our deliverance is near.
When we feel that we have nothing left to give, and that we cannot possibly take another step, we draw strength by reflecting on how much we’ve already accomplished, and how far we’ve already come.
