Seek Wisdom & Seek the Wise
This is the second time this old man has turned up in the past nine days.
I tend to think of the Hermit card as representing a private, individual quest, and the need for quiet, solitude, etc., as counterpoised to the Hierophant from two days ago, who represents formal, structured learning and discipleship within a community context.
There are great souls in the world who are not “religious leaders” in a formal sense. I’m thinking today that perhaps the Hermit card should be a prompt to follow not just the light, but all of the ones who hold the lanterns.
