Wise – Compassionate – Diplomatic – Calm – Patient
The King of Cups is great communicator and creative genius. This is the card of creativity, emotions and the unconscious. The character represents the ability to navigate these mysterious realms with ease and grace.
In my journal I once described this King as “surfing on the essential ground of being.” Because he is so deeply in touch with emotions (his and others’), and has facility in accessing the unconscious (personal and shared), he is able to see the “big picture” and remain calm during even the most daunting crisis. He is a calming and affirming influence on others as well.
He is peacemaker and wise, nurturing teacher.
It turns out that when we are aligned with our own creativity and intuition, we can be more empathetic and compassionate as well.
