When we open ourselves to the most profound stirrings of our hearts, and we offer the totality of ourselves to the world – that is when we are most present, aligned and alive.

Temperance is about finding balance.

It turned up for me this morning when I have been feeling quite out of balance for several days now.

I get the sense that there is something lurking just beneath the surface, waiting to come up and bite.

Looking at The Lover card this morning during my daily draw, these words from the Book of Genesis came to mind. “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

The Devil card, for me, represents two main concepts – bondage and deception. When this card turns up, we scan the environment for undue influence and lies. Our chains are broken as we seek light and truth.
