I tend to think of this card as being about anxiety or mental preoccupation because of its appearance in the Rider Waite Smith deck. But for some reason today the phrase “winning against the odds” came to mind. 

Set aside anxiety and preoccupation. Do your best. Today is a new day.

As noted before the Nine of Swords is seen by some as the card of anxiety and nightmares. It’s appearance this morning prompted me to consider what is at the root of many of our most crippling anxieties and insecurities – shame.

Let’s face our nightmares with courage and pure intentions.
